Join Denver poetry communities for Denver Poet’s Day, a joyful outdoor gathering celebrating poetry, craft, community, and those who came before us. The day honors a tradition first brought to light by John Munson and others 50 years ago, when poets gathered at the Greek Amphitheatre between the State Capitol and Denver City and County Building to speak their poems aloud. Bring comfy seats, shade, a picnic, beverages, and poems. Electricity will be available, and the event may be recorded for posterity. When: Sunday, May 31, 2026, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM Where: Belmar Park Amphitheatre, 867 S Yarrow St, Lakewood, CO 80226 Cost: Free and open to the public
